This summer, The Simple Good is working with CPS and the Office of College and Career Success and Shine On, Chicago to work with Junior and Senior students who are part of the CPS Digital Pathways Program to create a half-hour broadcast television show this fall, called The Simple Good Show.

This unique show gives teens a chance to explore different neighborhoods in Chicago and document 'the simple good' that they find with still and video cameras. The program is designed to teach students while giving them the tools and the knowledge to create their own show about Chicago and the many communities that it represents.

This 6-week Summer Program will not only give teens hands-on production experience, but they can also receive credit in the show and gain real world, hands-on experience.

During this 6-week production class, teens will receive training not only in cameras and production equipment to help create a show, but also be immersed in a self-exploration curriculum which allows students to discover the good within themselves, around the world and within their own communities. Teens will then use this understanding to get on the ground and discover and capture their understanding of 'the simple good' in Chicago neighborhoods to bring awareness of the positivity that surrounds them. This is in effort to inspire other teens to look for the same positivity in their communities but also combat violence by starting a discussion on 'the simple good' of our lives.
